ArtMolds Lifecasting Resource Center  Lifecasting Technical Recommendations The FORTON MG (MG means modified gypsum) Casting System (FMG) is compromised of a glass-fiber reinforced gypsum (hydrocal) system. The result of which can be utilized for interior or exterior sculpture. It is simple to use and most importantly is non-toxic. It is lightweight and has a rapid mold cycling time of 60 to 90 minutes without the use of an accelerator. It is possible to add aggregates and pigments to achieve natural stone looks via sandblasting, or add metal powders which can be patinaed and polished for realistic metal castings (cold casting).
